Whilst looking through my photos, I realized that I had never displayed my infamous Monkey socks on the blog. These were the very first socks I made from the luscious Sante Fe sock yarn, which is now one of our most popular yarns.
The pattern is a simple lace repeat, it is a deservedly popular free pattern, published in Knitty, 2006.
These socks have been on display in the shop all summer. My daughter modelled them for this photo shoot, and claims that they are her socks, as soon as the weather cools down. She has the same size feet as me, so I might have to fight her for them.

Cotton bolero - Sirdar
One of my Christmas present projects was a bolero for my 10 year old niece.
I started the lace bolero from the Sirdar cotton children's pattern book, in size 11, which is reportedly for a 76cm chest.
The bolero turned out beautifully.
I was really happy with it, until I measured it.
It was far too big for someone with a 76 cm chest. My gauge was spot on. I was a little annoyed, until my 13 year old daughter admired it. Instant extra Christmas present!
It is only a little too big for her. Her chest measurement is 81cm. I really like this pattern, but it runs large.
Next I will be making a size 8 for my niece!
